Latimer travels to Bolivia to capture fairtrade nuts journey

Over the last few months Latimer have been working with the UK’s only fairtrade, farmer-owned nut company, Liberation Foods, to produce films which capture their story and the journey of their products.

By buying nuts from co-operatives whose small-scale growers and farmers own 44 percent of their company, Liberation Nuts secure decent incomes for smallholder nut producers around the world.

Liberation’s products make sure producers are paid at least the Fairtrade minimum price for their nuts and receive a Fairtrade premium for every kilogram they sell, ensuring farmers can earn decent livings off their labour. These premiums then go back into the community as investments for future projects, such as solar-powered fences and health care and education facilities.

After traveling to Puerto Perez, Bolivia to document this narrative firsthand, Latimer are now in the final stages of production and hope to share Liberation’s story with you soon. In the meantime, check out some of the captivating photos from our experience below:
